I keep pointing that out, so if you’re reading this shouty singers – stop.
Having just implied the switching of moods is a good thing, (unless you don’t like rollercoasters) actually the screams here have almost have no individuality about them and the same is true with countless other acts. Other times however, things are far more shouty. Other times I’m ever so slightly reminded of also sad song ‘World So Cold’ by Mudvayne.
Some of the mildly dissonant vocals bring to mind Staind’s sad and dark ’Break the Cycle’ album. The album begins with ‘Rock and Root’ and it’s somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster. They independently released their album ‘The Passing of Moonlight’ on June 23rd, 2023, and their diverse writing style has gained them both modern and more old school followers. The group’s singer broke his foot just days before a gig, but that did nothing to stop him raising hell on stage. They are made up of veteran musicians from their local scene, and they mix rocking riffs, tuneful choruses and deep lyrics with intense live performances.
